COVID-19 Clinic Update:
I have resumed in-person sessions at Hamilton House in Nottingham, NG5 1AE. Measures are in place to manage the risk of COVID-19 (physical distancing, PPE, and increasing the frequency of hand washing and surface cleaning). A copy of my COVID-19 Risk Assessment and Policy is available upon request.
Most of my sessions are still being held online. Sometimes people feel apprehensive about setting up the tech for online sessions. I offer a free 15 minute session to help with this.
If you are experiencing anxiety related to the virus, you're not alone. I can offer support specifically for this. Get in touch to find out more.
Managing Anxiety, Worry & Stress
Life is overwhelming right now & everyone wants a piece of you. It's exhausting trying to keep such tight control of everything in your life.
Others seem to manage this stuff okay so you feel weak & like you can't cope.
I have successfully treated many people who feel like you. Committing to therapy, can help you stop worrying all the time, feel more able to cope with what life throws at you & make decisions you're happy with.
Improving Self-Esteem & Confidence
You give yourself such a hard time & would never talk to friends this way. Logically you know you're not a failure or a bad person but you don't feel it to be true. You hold yourself to very high standards & it's exhausting, like being on a never-ending hamster-wheel.
It is possible to end the constant battle in your head & stop fighting with your inner critic. Therapy can help you relate to yourself in more supportive ways AND allow you to move forward & achieve what you want in life.
Overcoming Social or Performance Anxiety
You feel self-conscious at the thought of talking to people. You might feel embarrassed that you get so anxious in social circumstances everyone else seems to manage. When you're with people it feels like they can see how anxious you feel inside.
If you are motivated & committed to working with your anxiety, you can discover how to socialise with ease, optimize your performance at work & learn how to appear confident, even when you don't feel it.
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
Everyone experiences emotional pain in their life. Sometimes the memories associated with this pain, the emotions, images & physical sensations that go with it, are not fully processed by the brain. Your ability to live in the present can become inhibited.
EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy for healing emotional distress. EMDR can accelerate therapy by resolving the impact of past upsetting memories and trauma allowing you to live more fully in the present.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
If you are looking for a structured, teamwork approach to working on current problems, CBT can help. Develop a 'toolkit' of strategies that work in the long-term.

What people are saying about having worked with me:
"Helped me move forwards"
"I can’t even describe the massive difference you’ve made to me as a person & thank you enough. It's been life-changing.
Helped me move forwards & cope with life when I wasn't managing whilst being pragmatic & realistic, providing tools I can now use. Perfect balance between understanding & empathy whilst focusing on the future & how to move forwards"
"Much more able to cope"...
"I was very impressed how quickly [you] picked up on my condition/ difficulties where others I had seen over the years had missed it. Each week we looked at lots of different ways to problem solve, look at the bigger picture & find ways to manage, that will continue to be useful to me from now on. I have moved from feeling overwhelmed with stress & anxiety to feeling much more able to cope, reduce worry & be more mindful".
"It’s been massively helpful, & often a surprisingly enjoyable experience as I have learned to think better of myself. Beverley is a lovely person who has always made me feel like I matter and like she is doing all she can to help me. I’m very glad I sought this treatment at last’"
